Fuji's character did seem like he was always chasing Tezuka from behind, but now he stands in front of him as an equal. Reason Tezuka stopped that match was to stop Fuji from quitting tennis by forfeiting. He didn't want Fuji to feel regret by not tapping into his full potential. Such a great duo of characters.

Tezuka destroying Atobe after that unfair defeat from the older series felt satisfying! :)

Before, Tezuka was a monster...now, he is an evolved monster.

I believe Atobe was one of those people who urged him to pursue greatness and accept Germany's invitation, so perhaps that would be a big blow on him.

So basically what i am trying to say is this was never meant to be a fantasy super power bs anime !
Just some awseome tennis with a little sprinkel of anime to make it look cooler.
And We already established that in the prince of tennis anime world its is ridiculous that someone would be able to destoy someones rackets net with a tennis ball returned at them.

its called power scaling issue, almost every mid to longterm anime has this issue.

See One Piece. Shanks lost his arm to a mere fish, which later on is impossible due to his power he should have had that time. But it wasnt expected to go that way. Same thing.

Well, thats the issue. Once you started you cannot really stop that. The only way to improve that is to turn tennis into what it really is: a mindgame. That would bring it to a total different level. However, I cannot image this being happening, as the anime has to give dive deep into character development for that and this anime has never done it. That being said, I really with for a Babysteps sequel...
